Maharish Mahesh Yogi  (12 Jan 1918- 5 Feb 2008)

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was born in Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh . His actual name was Mahesh Prasad Varma . He obtained the Honorifics (Maharishi). He was very much into the spiritualism.

He developed the superior meditation technique and even he was the Leader/Guru of world wide organisation which was characterized in several ways including as a new -religious movement and as a non-religious.

Maharishi was very much fond of developing new to new techniques of meditation .He became assistant of Swami Brahma nanda Saraswati the shankaracharya of the jyotirmath in the Himalayas. He learned the spiritualism there he has given full dedication to his work, after learning techniques he started his world tours ,his  first global tour began in 1958.

His devotees referred to him as his ‘Holiness’. In the late 1960’s and 1970’s Maharishi achieved fame as the Guru to the Beatles. Beatles was a English Band established in Liverpool.

It was really  a good time for Indians that being a Indian a person is representing and ruling a English Band.

The Maharishi’s natural Law party was  founded in 1992  where dozens of countries took part in.He moved to Meru Holland  in the same year.

In 2000 he created the Global Country of world peace (A country without Borders). He wanted each and every person to get involved in his campaign because his thinking was like there should be no boundaries  in between the countries he considered the world as a whole.

In 2008 the Maharishi announced his retirement from all the administrative activities and went into silence until his death three weeks later.

In present time we can easily see few Institutions which have opted Maharishi’s name .One of the best example is the Maharishi Yogi Vedic University Bhopal .Which still symbolizes the power of the Superior Meditator Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
