Diwali festival of lights and joy. Main festive of Hindus and also celebrated by Muslim, Sikhs, Jains and other communities. We can say Diwali is also a festival of unity. Even a Fatima came to the house of Sarla with the box of sweetness and happiness. No matter what religion, being Indian and secular, Diwali has become the National festival all over India. Everyone understands the importance of celebration of Diwali for Hindu culture and every culture accepts it as the integral part of Indian history. Diwali or Dipavali literally means “series of lights”. As Diwali is celebrated in joy of lord Rama’s returning back to Ayodhya from 14 years of vanvas and victory over Ravana. People of Ayodhya has lit Diyas in welcome of Rama at that was an Amavasa night. But now the meaning of Diwali has changed a lot. Now days Diwali is not just about lightening Diyas and spreading Happiness, Exchanging gifts or feeling blessed. Moreover Diwali has added more materialistic meaning to that. People are more joyed because a Business Man knows that this is the time for his high income, a women consider it as an opportunity of buying things and for kids Diwali is just for burning crackers which causes the most amount of air and noise pollution in contrast to whole year. Many less people still remember the real traditional significance of Diwali. Diwali is always welcomed with love, money and more pollution. Let’s welcome Diwali this year with a Namaskar and understand the main purpose of Diwali which is spreading brightness and joy in others life as lord Rama has bring when he came back from Ayodhya, not by the pollution from cracker or seeing Diwali just as of selling and purchasing things.
Happy, Prosperous and Safe Diwali to all.
