India is a country known
as the land of festivals, and we Indian’s are proud of it.  Likewise Diwali is a festival celeberated by
all the Indian’s together.  Not only in
India but also the people living in abroad. 
It is said that Diwali is the returning of Lord Rama to his kingdom –
Ayodhya after a long period of time of 14 years Vanvaas and after defeating the
Ravana.  The people of Ayodhya had lighten
the ways and homes with diyas in order to show the path to the Lord Rama as he
was arrived Ayodhya on the night of Amaavaas. 
It is a hindu festival which symbolizes the triumph of goodness over
badness.  It is also celeberated by the Sikhs
as that day was the release of their 6th Guru, Shri Hargobind ji
from the Gwalior Jail by the Mughal Emperror Jahangeer.

Diwali is one of the
most famous festival which is celeberated every year after the 20 days of Dusshra.
It is celeberated in the month of Oct-Nov. People clean their houses, shopes etc
 and do whitewashes. During this day
people visit their relatives and friends to share the gift as the symbol of
happiness and love. They celeberate Diwali by lightening the clay of
Diyas.   Diwali is known as the festival of lights,
Rangolis, sweets and crackers. In the evening people perform Pooja of the goddesses
of wealth – Lakshmi and God of wisdom – Ganesh. On that day people lighten
their houses and paths in order to welcome goddesses Lakshmi to the home to get
more blessings for the bright future and
prosperity.
