“We are sorry Damini”

I had written this article on 2nd Jan, 2013

Today I am going to share something about the “NIRBHAYA CASE”. You all know that what had happened on 16th Dec, 2012 in the heart of the nation. It was really strange which doesn’t belong to us I mean not directly but one can say somewhere indirectly. This is very ashamed which had happened to that girl who had died on 29th Dec, 2012, you know why? Because of us. Because we don’t (I mean our male dominated society) respect women. We don’t respect women in the way in which she should be treated, that is her individuality, her own existence in our society, why we call her after a male’s name. Some stupid people think that the women are their own property and they can easily mould her in any way as they want, but this is totally wrong and unfair.

The girl Damini who was brutally assaulted and raped by some scoundrels just to tranquil the hunger of their sexual desire, it’s so disgusting, ridiculous and pathetic. I have no words to express my feelings for this brutal incident. Oh! God please don’t happen this thing to any of my friend and not even to my enemy because this is a very uncouth incident, and our politicians! What to say about them, they are really unpredictable, they are playing political games in the cover of this mishap; you know our government are becoming blind, not even blind they are also deaf, they are those stones which can’t rubbed off even one rub a rope on it (means emotionless).

For past many days people had been sitting at Jantar-Mantar for abstinence from food only for getting justice for Damini, not only for this Damini but for so many Daminis who suffer this brutal mishaps daily, before sitting at Jantar-Mantar people went to India Gate but our police, RAF, CRPF drove them away from there with Lathi-Charge, tear gases and water-firing, so many were wounded there, that was literally a terrible way of driving them away to express their feelings and emotions, whereas our constitution says that India is a Democratic country. I want ask to our Prime Minister (Mr. Manmohan Singh), Sonia Gandhi and our Chief Minister (Mrs. Sheela Dixit) where was the democracy on that day?

Till the date no one is listening, no one is ready to contending with this problem, government is still blind and deaf even lame, what to do? Where to go? We only can shout on roads and say “We want justice”, “We want justice” that is it? In the name of justice we are urging to our government that give those culprits a Capital Punishment, hang them up, and make a powerful law against rape and do this as soon as possible, but our government is not supporting us, shame on Indian Government. There are so many politicians on which many Rape Cases are proceeding then how can they make a powerful law on rape cases, one culprit can’t penalize another culprit.

This is an endless story, at the end I just want to say that just because of you (Damini) we people get vigilant, we never let your death waste and we will fight till the last. May God give you tranquility and let your soul relief. Our whole nation is praying for you, we had organised a candle march on your day of death at Jantar-Mantar and not only we but in many regions of India like Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore had organised a candle march for you, even in London.

May God bless her………………….!

    Nice written
Thanks a lot for sharing such a great blog .
well i totally agree with your thought Nikhil as the crime was really a type of crime which opened everyone’s eyes whereas, now each n every citizen of India is afraid of such a brutal crimes.
The decision taken by supreme court was up to the mark but the same punishment was not implemented for the juvenile as it is said that he was the one who did all this then how a age can describe his punishment when he is the main culprit in this case .
Rape is Rape (CRIME) …………… Rapist is Rapist ( CAN BE OF ANY AGE ).
where neither juvenile nor mature is the point but the point is the type of crime
which is a shameless activity (Rape).
    RIP DAMINI
Yes, I too say that WE ARE SORRY DAMINI .
WE STILL ARE LOOKING FOR THE JUSTICE .

    I m completely agree with u nikhil.
I am deeply shaken and shocked with what happened on 11 Dec. 2012 (6 men brutally raped a 23 year old girl in a moving bus in Delhi) and since then very shamefully rapes cases are increasing day by day. The struggle and sacrifice of damini shouldn’t go in vain. She has provided the path of revolution for justice and security of all women. Now people from all communities are ready to fight against rape and injustice. I completely agree with nikhil that govt. Should make a powerful law against rape like death penalty in All “rape and acid attacks”.

In the country India, where women have really made their Identity in the world wide, be it Politics, Culture, Ethics, Film Industry, Aeronautics and many more fields, inside that country these women are being treated so badly and disgustingly, women are being raped, harassed, assaulted, murdered…we are almost a developed country and want to be respected everywhere in the world but other will respect us only when we will learn how to respect our citizens which makes any country a ‘Country’ and that includes women also…our government holds a banner of ‘DEMOCRACY’ and let every bad thing happen in our country, I would like tell to our government that we don’t need such Democracy which can’t even protect its valuable citizens..

India nation where women have important role they are prayed as mother goddess.

even after this brutal gang-rape the monsters (they are not humans if they can do such a sin.) didn’t stop…after this case we had noida case and a very unusual pathetic case in which a 5 year old girl was raped…its a shame that today,in this 21’st century too, girls are treated as public property-they murdered, brutally raped ,assaulted and moreover harassed….its a high time…we have to take a stand its just not the government but even the people who could make a change
